Our Kids Karate-Do Program has different programs that are designed for beginning students of different ages. Programs have various options depending on how often you plan to attend class. (Note: prepaid classes not used in a given month are not carried over into subsequent months.)
Dedication is required to make progress in a quality art so initial membership programs are for 3 months.
There are no contracts. Students are free to pay monthly after the first 3 months.
A medium weight uniform is included when you sign-up/become a member. And if you sign-up now online you Save $25 on the registration fee. Reducing it to $39.95 from the usual $64.95.

Pre-teens & Teens Karate-Do
In addition to having a class each week dedicated to Teens and Pre-Teens, at Budo we recognize that children in Grades 6 and above mature at different rates. Some kids in this age range still enjoy the kid-focused group classes, while others prefer learning individually with older classmates as they take ownership of their training. Therefore for the classes other than the dedicated Teen/Pre-Teen one, children in this age range have the option of joining the Kids Beginner Karate-Do program or the individually taught and paced "Teen/Adult" Budo program.
Children, even high school students, generally do not have the life skills to learn as quickly as adults. The individual instruction style in our Teen/Adult program therefore works well for many older children, and full integration into the regular adult classes doesn't occur until adult green belt level. This often takes junior high school age children a few years. Therefore, while children in the teen/adult program will have some exposure to executing karate-do against adult-sized opponents, this exposure is closely monitored.
It is also important to remember when choosing the program for an older child that the time required for children to reach the first adult belt test is generally longer than it is for adults (4-6 month). If you think such a long time before achieving their first belt promotion or a lack of group classes will discourage your child, the children's program is likely a better program to start in.

Pre-Karate
All children 2nd Grade
and younger start in our Pre-Karate program to assure
that they have the tools necessary for our Beginner Kids Karate-Do
program.
The skills we teach in pre-karate include learning how to quiet the
body and focus their attention, basic coordination, teamwork, and
ability to follow instructions effectively. Older students in this
age range usually move up quite quickly (often in a week or two).
The Pre-Karate Program has classes once per week.
